~240km round trip ride to rad tomorrow. basically riding from here to the south side of st. helens to check out some early mtb trails - note: these trails were built with rigid bikes in mind and im riding 28-30s road tires. leaving tomorrow at like 6am and plan to be back 5-6 pm with a stop to put feet in a river

@jnerula just read that this morning, i'm thinking fat bikes might be the correct answer but i messaged a few dudes to see if anyone has any experience riding out there and what the conditions are like.

this seems kind of dangerous as it is currently but there are some pretty great roads back there anyway. the road between nehalem and 101 is pretty fantastic.

No fun Micheal! I was about to approach some friends about doing just that activity. Maybe wierd internet dudes will do.
  • MiguelMiguel Riding Level: 2,331
Dude go out there and try it out
Let us know how it goes
There's some landslide shit, uncleared downed trees, and probably enough overgrowth for a machete. Poison oak is pretty decent this year for the most part, but I've only been on popular trails.
But I get it, it's awesome to get lost sometimes and have that type 3 fun
  • MiguelMiguel Riding Level: 2,331
Necanicum highway/highway 53 is awesome, it's just a pain in the ass to get there
Head out to rockaway and get a pronto pup
